Marci Jefcoat Burton is currently an Engen Conservation Fellow at the National Air and Space Museum (NASM), Smithsonian Institution. In 2018, she graduated with an MA in Conservation from the UCLA/Getty Conservation of Archeological and Ethnographic Materials program, after completing her curriculum internship with the Penn Museum. Marci also holds a BA in Forensic Chemistry and a Minor in Art History from California State University, Sacramento. Other experience includes the technical analysis of synthetic polymeric materials with the Smithsonian Museum Conservation Institute (MCI), the study and treatment of polyurethane (PUR) foam with NASM, as well as the research and treatment of ethnographic objects, textiles, paper, photographs and paintings with the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI), the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens, and various private conservators in San Francisco.
