Katherine Schilling is an associate conservation research scientist at the Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage and an associate research scientist and lecturer in the department of Chemical Engineering at Yale University. She earned her PhD in chemical physics at the California Institute of Technology in 2015. She also has professional experience in the forensic analysis of trace evidence. Her research interests include: organic analysis, photochemistry, microfade testing, undergraduate education, and studying the aging mechanisms affecting photographs from the 19th century to present.
