Tess Graafland graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a Master degree and Professional Doctorate in Conservation and Restoration of Wood and Furniture in 2014. She took internships at both the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, in furniture and frames conservation respectively. Tess received an Annette de la Renta Junior Conservation Fellowship grant for 2015-2016 at the Metropolitan Museum, where she worked on frames in the Department of Paintings Conservation and conducted technical research on Stanford White frames. After her fellowship Tess returned to the Rijksmuseum, where she has worked as a junior frames conservator since September 2016.
