Solange FitzGerald has worked at the National Archives as a paper and book conservator since 2002. For the past 15 years she has led and worked extensively on the varied and often challenging book projects. The conservation work within the archive collection covers a wide range of materials including the repair of parchment manuscripts, maps and recently textiles. She gained ACR status in 2010 and in 2013 became conservation manager.
