Being trained as a conservation scientist, Liu received her PhD of Conservation Science in 2017 from University of Science and Technology of China. She hold a bachelor degree of Material Chemistry and was a visiting assistant in research in Yale-Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage from 2015-2016. Her research interests arescientific analysis and technical study of organic artifacts, such as silk, paper and lacquer. During her staying at Yale, she involved in the project of "Shrinkage mechanism of cellulose acetate" based on the deformation of cellulose acetate in Yale University Art Gallery. She has published 6 journal papers and 4 conference paper, part of her work of cellulose acetate was preliminarily presented as a student poster of IIC 2016.
