Marianne Weldon is the Collections Manager for the Art and Artifact Collections at Bryn Mawr College where she works to ensure preservation of the collection and provides access to the collection for students, faculty and researchers. Access is provided through class visits and through training and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students who photograph and catalog collections. The collections are also made available on the Internet through the collection database at: triarte.brynmawr.edu.  Marianne has an M.S. in art conservation from the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation and a B.F.A in jewelry/metalsmithing from the Philadelphia College of Art and is a Fellow of the American Institute for Conservation. She has worked in institutions with fine art, ethnographic, archaeological, and historical collections for over 28 years including: H. F. DuPont Winterthur Museum, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Detroit Institute of Arts, and Detroit Historical Museum.Recent personal projects have included collaborations on five books on the history of retailing and theater in Michigan. She can help with access to the Bryn Mawr College art and artifact collections and, with questions about the database, and collections. Particular areas of interest include examination and documentation of works of art using scientific methods and instrumentation, including RTI photography, Polarized Light Microscopy, X-Ray Flourescence Spectroscopy, and UV examination.
