Marieka Kaye is the Director of Preservation Services, Physical Collections, for the University of Michigan Library, where she also serves as the primary conservator of the Michigan papyrus collection, the largest in North America. She received a MA and Certificate of Advanced Study in Art Conservation from SUNY Buffalo State and a Masters of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. Marieka started working in the field of library preservation in 1998, during her senior year at Brandeis University. Prior to starting her position at U-M in 2013, she served as a conservator at The Huntington Library for eight years.
