Lucia Bay joined the Philadelphia Museum of Art (PMA) as the Project Assistant Conservator of Paintings in 2016 to study and treat the 1520 Descent from the Cross by Joos van Cleve. Since 2018 she has been working on paintings in preparation for a 2020 installation of the new American galleries. Lucia trained at the Courtauld Institute of Art in the Conservation of Easel Paintings, completing her postgraduate diploma in 2016. Previously she received a B.A. Fine art from University of California Los Angeles and worked as a technician in painting conservation at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
