Lisa Ackerman is currently an assistant conservator in the Objects Conservation Department at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, where she is focused on wooden architectural elements and furniture for the British Galleries renovation project. Lisa is the WAG Program Chair for the 2019 AIC Conference and is also currently serving on the WAG Advisory Committee (2017-2019). She received her M.A./C.A.S. in Art Conservation from Buffalo State College in 2017 with a specialization in objects with a focus on furniture, frames and wooden artifacts. She also completed the ICCROM International Course on Wood Conservation Technology in Oslo, Norway in 2016. Lisa has held internships at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Baltimore Museum of Art, and the Brooklyn Museum. She has been employed by The Met, the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C., Fine Wood Conservation in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Period Furniture Conservation in Jersey City, N.J.
