Lynn B. Brostoff holds a Masters Degree in Polymer Materials Science and a Ph.D. in Chemistry. In addition, Lynn holds a Masters Degree in Art History and a Certificate of Conservation with emphasis in Paper Conservation. For the last 25 years, Lynn has worked as a conservation scientist at multiple institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian’s Museum Conservation Institute, and the Library of Congress (LC) in Washington, DC, where she is currently a Senior Scientist and Analytical Service Liaison. Lynn’s current research focuses on iron gall ink chemistry, verdigris pigment, and deterioration in 19th century glass.
