Francis Textile Conservation LLC specializes in the preservation of historic and artistic textiles. Owner and Conservator, Kathy Francis, has over 30 years experience in textile conservation including 15 years in private practice, 8 years as Textile Conservator at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and 8 years as Chief Conservator at the Textile Conservation Center, a regional conservation center in North Andover/Lowell Massachusetts. Kathy works for museums, historical societies, universities, churches, and private individuals. She has broad experience in the treatment of early and historical textiles, archeological and ethnographic textiles, tapestries, wall hangings, needlework, samplers, flags & banners, quilts, decorative textile art, and modern textile art.
