Judy Jungels, (MA, CAS, Art Conservation, State University College at Buffalo; MFA, SUNY Buffalo; BFA, Alfred University) joined the Peabody Museum in 2005 and currently serves in the position of Conservator. Prior to working at the Museum, she held a position at SUNY Buffalo in the book preservation department. She has worked in conservation departments at the the Worcester Art Museum and the Corning Museum of glass and as a project conservator with research teams in the United States, Turkey, Peru and Honduras. Judy has a strong interest in materials and technology and trained as a sculptor working primarily in bronze casting, glass and ceramics before pursuing a career in conservation.
