João Henrique Ribeiro Barbosa has a BA in Cultural Heritage Artifact Conservation and Restoration from the School of Fine Arts at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (EBA-UFMG). He is in the second year of the master's program in Cultural Heritage Preservation offered by School of Fine Arts of UFMG. He is interested in conservation and restoration of sculptures on wood, metal, and stone. He has some practice in analytical techniques for artworks and studies in technical art history, in museum preventive conservation and methodologies such as monitoring collections and understanding them, and experience in metal treatments, such as chemical cleaning, identification of active and passive corrosion and construction techniques for metal objects. He also has an understanding of inorganic chemical laboratory equipment such as EDXRF, FTIR, MEV-EDS.
