Jing Han works as a professional fellow at the Getty Conservation Institute. Her work mainly involves the characterization of organic materials, especially lacquer and dyes, by high performance liquid chromatography coupled with diode array detection and mass spectrometry (HPLC-DAD-MS). She gained a Bachelor degree and a Masters degree in conservation science from School of Archaeology and Museology, Peking University respectively in 2009 and 2012. She completed PhD research at the University of Glasgow, investigating historical Chinese textile dyes and dyeing at the Centre for Textile Conservation and Technical Art History, University of Glasgow in 2016 and followed up with postdoctoral research on European natural dyes, early synthetic dyes and the light-fading of dyes in 2016.
