Denise Migdail has held the title of textile conservator at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco since March 2006. Working in a multidisciplinary lab, the work is largely exhibition driven: preparing textiles for display and travel. Prior to her employment at the museum, Denise worked in private practice in the Bay Area developing relationships with many Bay Area institutions and collectors. In collaboration with other local conservators she has worked on textiles, helped install costume exhibitions, and held workshops at the de Young Museum, SFMoma, The Oakland Museum of History, and PALM (the Performing Arts Library and Museum). She currently serves on the board of the North American Textile Conservation Conference.
