Chandra L. Reedy is a professor of historic preservation at the University of Delaware’s Biden School of Public Policy & Administration, and Director of the Center for Historic Architecture and Design. She also directs the Center’s Laboratory for Analysis of Cultural Materials. She has a PhD in archaeological science from UCLA and has spent most of her career at University of Delaware, except for a few years as a Conservation Chemist at LACMA. She currently works on technological studies of ceramic materials, especially from China, and is a specialist in thin-section petrography and image analysis. She is the author of 6 books, including Thin-Section Petrography of Stone and Ceramic Cultural Materials, published by Archetype in 2008. She has taught many workshops on thin-section petrography, most recently in Siem Reap, Cambodia, for the Ceramics Study Unit of the APSARA Authority. For the past 10 years she has served as Editor-in-Chief of Studies in Conservation, following a 7-year stint as Editor-in-Chief of JAIC and a term on the AIC Board.
